For this reason, only the most durable of materials such as rose-gold, stainless steel and Fincoll are used for the housing. The watch glass is also designed to be scratch and shock-resistant. To guarantee that the Vacheron Constantin Overseas always copes with environments where it comes into contact with water or magnetic fields, the watch has anti-magnetisation protection up to 25,000 A / m and water resistance up to 15 bar.

On the automatic caliber 1222 SC, an alternative zone can be set by engaging a ring on the outer edge of the dial. The Overseas Chronograph was one of the first models in the collection and has long enjoyed cult status. Equipped with the automatic caliber 1137, it enables the exact measurement of time. Hours, minutes and seconds gone by are displayed using three totalisers around the centre of the dial. The chronograph also has a date display at the 12 o'clock point. With bright hands, numerals and indices on a dark grey dial, a case made of red gold and a dark-brown rubber strap, the Overseas Chronograph has a visual appearance that complements other models in the collection. While the regular Overseas model with its diameter of 42-millimetres can appear chunky on narrower wrists, the smaller Overseas version is an ideal alternative. This combines all the properties of the larger Overseas but has a diameter of just 36-millimetres, giving a much more refined appearance. Thanks to a display set at the 3 o'clock point, the wearer always has a clear view of the current date while the lettering "Vacheron Constantin Geneve" above the centre and a diamond-set bezel make this watch an eternal favourite.
