Nomos Tangomat – Puristic elegance

Nomos Tangomat

Familiar design and a comfortable automatic movement

Loading...

The Tangomat is the prestigious showpiece collection by Nomos Glashütte that perfectly embodies the high-quality materials and unique design features expected of the manufacturers. The first major difference between the Tangomat and the Tangente is the size of the watches: the diameter of the solid Tangomat measures 40-milimeters. The second difference cannot be so easily be discerned by outward appearances. Unlike the classical Tangente with a manual wind movement, an automatic movement powers the Nomos Tangomat.

Nomos Glashütte exclusively utilises calibres that are developed and produced in-house. With 75-95% of movement production being developed in-house, the Nomos models are equally convincing in terms of function and technical elements. The importance of quality is also highlighted here as Nomos Glashütte chooses to construct the majority of movement parts on their own even though the law requires that only 50% of the production has to be conducted internally in order for a manufacturer to place its name on it.

The quality manufacturer has been granted a number of awards thanks to the distinctive designs of the Nomos Glashütte collection. Such awards include the “Red Dot Design Award”, “The Golden Balance”, and the “iF product design award.

Nomos Epsilon und Nomos Zeta

Creative Movement as a centrepiece

Enticing fans around the world is the movement fitted in the Tangomat, which is also produced in-house. The automatic “Nomos Epsilon” is equipped with the classic Tangomat whereas the “Nomos Zeta” powers the Nomos Glashütte Tangomat Date. Under the direction of 29-year-old watchmaker Mirko Heyne, the company reached out to clientele in order to help test their high-grade movements.

In comparison to other movements, the automatic movement powering the Nomos Glashütte Tangomat is quite large. With a diameter measuring 34.65-milimeters, the wristwatch provides precise accuracy and is comprised of a one-piece central rotor made of metal. As a result, the timepiece demonstrates an outstanding winding performance that is further supported through the likewise larger balance spring. Highly legible is the small seconds located at the 6 o’clock marker. The fine workmanship of the model is easily visible through a case-back comprised of high-grade sapphire crystal. Furthermore, the case back of the watch is safely secured with six tempered blue screws, protecting the fine rhodium-plated movement surface and allowing further viewing of the ratchet and duplex wheel – a masterpiece that gains the attention of any watch connoisseur.

Nomos Tangomat 601 or 635?

A variety of options

When searching for the right model, Nomos Tangomat provides a variety of options for the demanding watch enthusiast. Five models convince with a unique and refined design. The main difference between the Tangomat Ref. 601 and the Tangomat Ref. 602 is the addition of a date display. The perfect model can be easily discovered with a variation in colour, material, and variable sizes.

The Nomos Ref. 604 convinces with a sleek black dial instead of classic white, whereas the Nomos Glashütte Tangomat GMT Ref. 635 integrates a date display at the 3 o’clock marker and as the name states, incorporates a GMT function. A refined and classical feel distinguishes all models presented by the Nomos Tangomat line. Furthermore, the timepieces are quality made and come equipped with high-grade leather bracelets and are fastened with a fine buckle.
